We strive for excellence in clinical care as we serve those living with mental illness, substance use disorders, crisis, unstable housing, and trauma. Canvas Health is a non-profit, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) specializing in serving clients who are on Medicaid.

Position Summary

This position provides Peer support services within the Mental Health Crisis Services to clients of all ages through identifying and creating goals and developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, supports, and resources to aid them in achieving those goals. This non-clinical position may also deal with supporting crisis calls and providing in-home peer support. Assist clients by helping break down barriers to community resources and provide encouragement for involvement in community activities that support their goals and interests.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and create goals and develop recovery plans with clients.
  • Provide peer support services within Mental Health Crisis Services.
  • Support crisis calls and provide in-home peer support as needed.
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources and encourage participation in community activities.
Schedule

Daytime, Monday - Friday Part-time, 20 hours per week

Location

Onsite, Chaska, MN

Salary
  • Level I Base Salary: $17.91 - $20.74/hour
  • Level II Base Salary: $26.23 - $30.37/hour

The expected compensation range for this position represents a good faith estimate for this position and the specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, experience, and/or FTE.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma/GED or higher
  • Certification as a Mental Health Peer Specialist in the state of Minnesota
  • One (1) or more years of experience working as a peer specialist
  • Use of a personal automobile for business-related travel; valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance per Canvas Health policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a certified peer specialist
  • Bachelors Degree; or associate degree
  • Experience working with and/or delivering services to diverse populations
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record systems
