Laborer - Highway Department

The Town of Charlton seeks to fill a Laborer position for the Highway Department. The laborer will be performing manual work to include weedwacking, lawn mowing, shoveling, plowing, maintaining roadways and streets and any other duties as directed. Candidates for this position must be able to lift 75 lbs and be able to work in all weather conditions. This position is required to work nights, weekends and holidays if storms and emergent situations arise.

The position is a full-time, 40 hour per week, union position with an hourly rate of $23.96.

Qualifications for the position:

* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

* MA Class D Drivers License

* Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

* Physical strength and agility sufficient to do strenuous laboring tasks under varying weather conditions.
