Job Function: Manufacturing

Location: Charlton, MA, US, 01507

Work Flexibility: Onsite (Office/ Production)

Position overview: To disassemble and assemble quality endoscope subassemblies while adhering to prescribed standards

Shift: Monday - Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Minimum knowledge, education and skill requirements
  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience assembling miniature precision medical products preferred.
  • Proficient in all sub-assembly, disassembly or basic endoscope or shaft assembly.
  • Must possess ability to understand assembly drawings and written assembly procedures.
  • Ability to meet takt time and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of soldering, fusion process, laser welding, pad print preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work with adhesives, solvents, microscopes, small hand and power tools, measurement devices and other related tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work well with coworkers.
Essential functions

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be punctual and able to sustain attendance guidelines and work hours as assigned.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to perform repetitive assembly actions with fine manipulation while using a microscope for extended periods.
  • Regular range of motion including flexion/rotation of head and neck.
  • Keen vision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
  • May need to bend, twist, push, pull, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to use manual or semi-automatic hand tools to torque, cut, polish, and clean parts.
  • Exposure to alcohol, solvents, epoxy, and adhesives.
  • Not expected to require driving for this role.
  • For Task five: visual acuity of 20/25 in the better eye to judge optical quality.

Mental requirements

  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly.
  • Make decisions that affect coworkers and product quality.
  • Ability to read English and understand SOPs and manufacturing procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Semi-routine assembly of various intricate optical and mechanical components.
  • Apply acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure production quantities align with time standards.
  • Perform cleaning and inspection of components using hand tools and ultrasonic baths.
  • Follow prescribed assembly techniques within assigned time standards to produce quality endoscope subassemblies while meeting productivity guidelines.
  • Participate in company-sponsored training programs up to and including facilitating training as appropriate to role.
  • Cross-train in other value stream assemblies as needed.
  • Be aware of practices and processes using current management tools.

  • Commit to a high standard of safety and comply with all environmental and safety laws and company policies. Report violations to supervision or management.
  • Adhere to environmental policies related to ISO 14001.
  • Do not pose a direct threat or significant risk to safety.
  • Inform the Company if taking medications or if any circumstances could interfere with safe performance.
  • Use of personal and departmental safety equipment as required; handle solvents, chemicals and adhesives safely.
  • Note:

    Visualize that most field roles require hospital credentialing/health screens as part of employment; inquire during the interview process about credentialing impacts and accommodations.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001.
