- Assists with the planning, development, integration and maintenance of the Clinical Information System (CIS).
- Acts as liaison between the CIS Technical Team and CIS Clinical Support Team, providing technical and application advice and support for assigned modules.
- Provides business requirements analysis and presents requirements back to the client.
- Provides project management services to the client Department/Agency using standard project management methodologies.
- Works with the development team on system builds to ensure clarity of user requirements and coordinates resources during development.
- Assists the client in managing impacts of the information system on business processes, coordinates client testing teams and test plans, and facilitates end user training.
- Leads groups in examining work processes, setting objectives, encouraging innovation, and resolving conflicts related to information systems management.
- Leads and facilitates teams in defining responsibilities, goals, and project management structures.
- Researches and evaluates provincial policies, procedures, standards and legislation to support provincial standardization for complex information systems.
- Identifies, documents, manages and escalates issues related to vendors, clients, user groups, system functionality and facility acceptance.
- Other related duties as required.
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Business Information Technology or equivalent; demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.
- Extensive experience in IT management and in eliciting, analyzing and documenting user requirements; managing IT projects, and developing IT plans and service level agreements.
- Experience in IT systems implementation for data conversion, system testing, change management, and security.
- Experience in facilitating, planning and implementing projects and working in a team environment.
- Thorough knowledge of principles and methodologies for maintaining large and complex IT systems.
- Ability to work independently, quickly understand organizational goals and objectives, liaise with diverse stakeholders, and manage relationships with employees and contractors.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and user audiences; customer service orientation and ability to prioritize.
- Applicants must have a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to employment.
- Course work or certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, Facilitation, Conflict Resolution and Public Administration; experience with Cerner software and methodology considered an asset.
