Murphy’s Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated and experienced Compounding Pharmacist in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to lead our Compounding practice. Areas of focus include healthcare professional and patient education, individual consultations and community-based seminars along with lab oversight to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality pharmaceutical compounding. In addition to what makes you unique, there are a few basics that we require for this role:
Required:- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory body.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in non-sterile compounding within a community pharmacy.
- Strong understanding of NAPRA standards and Canadian pharmacy practice.
- Certification in compounding (e.g., PCCA training or equivalent).
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and compounding software.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for personalized medicine and patient-centered care.
- Business acumen and relationship-building skills with healthcare providers.
While we all work to provide services to clients, we all play different roles to make this happen. You’ll contribute by:
Leadership & Team Management- Supervise and mentor lab team.
- Provide ongoing training and competency assessments for lab team.
- Foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to promote awareness and trust in Murphy’s Pharmacies’ compounding services to drive growth and community impact.
- Act as a clinical resource for prescribers by offering formulation guidance, therapeutic alternatives, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Identify and implement opportunities to expand compounding services based on community needs, prescribing trends, and emerging therapeutic areas (e.g., dermatology, pain management, HRT, pediatrics, veterinary).
- Collaborate with pharmacists in all Murphy's Pharmacies locations to educate and promote personalized compounded medication options for clients.
- Collaborate with the Support Team to develop and implement marketing strategies, educational outreach, and referral programs.
- Meet directly with prescribers and seek out professional networking opportunities to enhance visibility, credibility, growth and health outcomes.
