Your Role

The Pharmacy Optimization Lead, in partnership with the Pharmacy Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day operations and contributing to the best-in-class pharmacy practice and primary care delivery of Murphy’s Parkdale Pharmacy. This role is responsible for the team’s scheduling, onboarding, training, and adherence to operational processes to support the fulfillment of the team’s goals — accuracy, efficiency, quality, organization — while maintaining regulatory compliance.

A portion of the time in role will include working with the team, taking regular shifts.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager, manage the pharmacy team’s schedule to ensure coverage of all operating hour shifts.
  • Monitor and maintain an efficient workflow in the pharmacy at all times including redirecting staff as required during daily operations to ensure highest levels of client service.
  • Ensure the dispensary team delivers a high level of client service and effectively triages client needs.
  • Manage quality processes in the pharmacy to ensure highest levels of dispensing accuracy, reporting near misses and incidents and taking remedial action on all events.
  • Manage inventory management processes, including stock and supply levels to maintain efficient operations
  • Assist in the implementation of pharmacy services and initiatives as part of the pharmacy care plan (e.g. central fill, pharmacy plus billings, influenza)
  • Troubleshoot technical problems as they arise and contact support teams as required
  • Collaborate with the Support Team to on-board and train new staff
  • Support existing employees in learning and development by participating in performance development process, assigning training as required.
  • Manage an efficient delivery process in collaboration with the driver team lead and assigned delivery driver(s)
  • Problem solve and/or participate in internal and external conflict resolution as required
  • Collaborate with Support Team members on a routine basis
  • Assume shifts in the dispensary on a weekly basis
  • Ensure dispensary operations are compliant to all applicable legislation, College of Pharmacy policies and company policies.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required for business needs
