Overview
Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services that manages ground ambulance, air medical transport and medical communications operations in Nova Scotia. EMC operates Tele Health/811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Volunteer Patient and Family Advisory CommitteeEMC is seeking 2–4 community‑mindful individuals to serve on the Tele Health Patient and Family Advisory Committee. These are volunteer positions. Current EMC staff, community health board members and elected officials are not eligible to apply.
Qualifications- Personal or family/caregiver experience with Tele Health Services (Nova Scotia 811, Prince Edward Island 811, Tobacco Free Nova Scotia) within the last 12 months.
- Community or organization partner representative, whose members utilize or refer to Tele Health services.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Can look at issues from more than one point of view.
- Can share honest points of view in a respectful way.
- Be reflective of the diverse populations and perspectives in our community.
- Previous volunteer experience is an asset.
- Interested in making a positive contribution to health care services.
- Sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Provide a Criminal Background Check (completed within the past 12 months) or be willing to obtain one.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest.
- Be available to attend daytime business hours meetings in Dartmouth with the option of attending remotely by video/teleconference.
- Be able to commit to attend (3–4) meetings annually. Individuals can live anywhere geographically within Nova Scotia or PEI.
