Junior Environmental Site Assessor

Location:

Charlottetown, PEI, Canada. Position:
Junior Environmental Site Assessor.

• Collaborate with project managers and team members on environmental investigations and remediation projects across Atlantic Canada.
• Assist in preparing health & safety plans, work plans, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate and supervise environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour), excavation of test pits, drilling of boreholes, and installation of monitoring wells.
• Compile and interpret analytical data using tables, figures, and graphs.
• Draft Phase I/II/III ESA summary reports, environmental compliance documents, soil management plans, and remedial action/risk management plans.
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures, while developing skills.
• Complete required health & safety training and adhere to health & safety policies and procedures.
• Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assignments.
• Provide support to multiple Stantec offices as required.
• Travel may be required; occasional irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

• Energetic, detail‑oriented professional.
• Can work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
• Working knowledge of field sampling techniques preferred.
• Willing and able to travel and work extended hours (up to 12‑hour days and occasional weekends).
• Flexible and able to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
• Initiative and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment while prioritizing health and safety.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, O365, etc.).
• Knowledge of relevant local provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; access to a vehicle preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, environmental science, or a related field.
• Previous co‑op/internship or related work experience.
• P.Geo. or P.Eng. registration or eligibility considered an asset.

• Locations in PEI: $49,400.00 – $69,200.00 annually.
