Location:
Charlottetown, PEI, Canada. Position:
Junior Environmental Site Assessor.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members on environmental investigations and remediation projects across Atlantic Canada.
- Assist in preparing health & safety plans, work plans, and other technical documents.
- Coordinate and supervise environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour), excavation of test pits, drilling of boreholes, and installation of monitoring wells.
- Compile and interpret analytical data using tables, figures, and graphs.
- Draft Phase I/II/III ESA summary reports, environmental compliance documents, soil management plans, and remedial action/risk management plans.
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures, while developing skills.
- Complete required health & safety training and adhere to health & safety policies and procedures.
- Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assignments.
- Provide support to multiple Stantec offices as required.
- Travel may be required; occasional irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Energetic, detail‑oriented professional.
- Can work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
- Working knowledge of field sampling techniques preferred.
- Willing and able to travel and work extended hours (up to 12‑hour days and occasional weekends).
- Flexible and able to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
- Initiative and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment while prioritizing health and safety.
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, O365, etc.).
- Knowledge of relevant local provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; access to a vehicle preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, environmental science, or a related field.
- Previous co‑op/internship or related work experience.
- P.Geo. or P.Eng. registration or eligibility considered an asset.
- Locations in PEI: $49,400.00 – $69,200.00 annually.
