A well-established and respected construction firm in PEI is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to take full ownership of day-to-day site operations on active construction projects
. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role requiring strong coordination skills, a proactive mindset, and absolute accountability for safety, quality, and execution.
As Site Superintendent, you will be the primary on-site representative, responsible for maintaining full control of site activities, trade coordination, safety, organization, and short-term scheduling. This role is ideal for a Superintendent who takes pride in running a clean, safe, well-organized site and anticipates issues before they become problems.
Key Responsibilities Site Leadership & Accountability- Act as the primary on-site representative and point of contact
- Maintain full responsibility for all on-site activities and trade coordination
- Ensure the site is safe, secure, clean, and fully prepared for daily operations
- Lead trade foremen with professionalism, firmness, and respect
- Maintain 100% accountability for jobsite safety and security
- Conduct daily site walks to identify and correct hazards or deficiencies
- Enforce safety policies consistently across all trades
- Coordinate third-party safety inspections and ensure timely corrective action
- Execute the master project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Develop and manage rolling two-week lookahead schedules
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with trade foremen
- Monitor manpower, productivity, and attendance across all trades
- Proactively identify and communicate schedule risks with mitigation strategies
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of drawings, specifications, and approved shop drawings
- Ensure all work aligns with contract documents and scopes of work
- Identify constructability issues, scope gaps, and coordination conflicts early
- Inspect work in progress and manage deficiencies through completion
- Complete accurate daily site reports and logs
- Maintain organized site documentation including drawings, schedules, safety records, and change documentation
- Support inspections by consultants, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction
- Plan and coordinate material deliveries and site logistics
- Ensure materials are received, stored, protected, and sequenced efficiently
- Maintain clear laydown areas and organized material flow
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent on commercial or industrial construction projects
- Strong leadership and trade coordination skills
- Deep understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site operations
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using construction management software (e.g., Procore or similar)
- High level of autonomy and responsibility
