Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Finance Department by ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing expense processes, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expense Management
    • Review and process employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
    • Manage the company credit card program, including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Accounting & Reporting
    • Perform Fixed and Intangible Asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation.
    • Maintain and update the Cash Flow Forecast file to support liquidity planning.
    • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
    • Prepare and review bank and other account reconciliations and related analysis.
    • Manage and reconcile GST/HST and other government program submissions and payments.
    • Handle lease accounting in accordance with applicable standards.
  • AP/AR Oversight
    • Train and supervise the AP/AR Technician to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
    • Create weekly vendor payment lists and review/approve vendor payment runs.
    • Communicate promptly and professionally with colleagues and vendors to obtain missing information, relay invoice status, and answer payables-related questions.
  • Budget & Analysis
    • Send and follow up with budget owners on Budget vs. Actuals reporting.
    • Collaborate within a team environment to meet day-to-day accounting and financial reporting requirements.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other tasks as required to support the Finance Department and organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
