Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanism of complex genome rearrangements which is prevalent in cancers and congenital human disorders, potentially leading to the development of novel therapeutics for related human diseases. For more information about the Tang Lab can be found through: /
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree, preferably a PhD in Cell biology, Genetics and Genomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related Biomedical Science discipline by the appointment start date.
Candidates should also have prior experience with live-cell imaging, genomics, protein expression and purification. Publications on high impact peer review journals (first author) are preferred.
Postdoctoral employment is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a doctoral degree within the previous five years. This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal (for an additional two, one-year increments) contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Full-time research or scholarship at the University.
- Preparatory for a full-time academic or research career
- Supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of his/her research or scholarship
- Accurately record experimental results and work with PI to determine next steps
- Present data at lab meetings and possibly a conference/meeting
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
