The Neuro ICU is a 12‑bed critical care unit providing intensive management to patients with life‑threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Cases include central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections.
We are seeking clinicians who consistently provide direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team to complex patients, manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level, and seek feedback for improved clinical practice. The role assumes a beginning leadership role with mentorship.
Sign‑on bonus & relocation bonus are available for qualified candidates who commit to 12 months of work at UVA Health.
Time Type:
Full Time (36 hrs, 3 12‑hour shifts)

- In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. - Experience:
1 year of relevant experience. - Licensure:
Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
- Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20‑50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Position Compensation Range: $39.90 – $53.00 hourly
