- Provide direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team for complex patients.
- Manage care and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians and health care team members.
- Seek and provide feedback to improve clinical practice.
- Assume a beginning leadership role with mentoring as needed.
- Apply relationship based care principles including self-care, caregiver relationships, and patient/family relationships to improve the patient experience.
- Demonstrate expert caring through clinical assessment, planning, prioritization, coordination and implementation of care.
- Participate in shared governance and demonstrate empowered leadership.
- Engage in lifelong learning and support onboarding of new team members and precept as applicable.
- Adhere to clinical documentation guidelines, engage with outcomes data, participate in performance improvement activities and uphold standard work.
- Apply evidence-based practice and nursing research innovations to patient care.
- Other duties as assigned as needed.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical DemandsJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Compensation and BenefitsThe starting base rate for this role is $39.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
