Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with varied schedule:
Monday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Thursday-Friday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

• General call required: 4-6 call shifts in a 6-week schedule including two 12-hour weekend call shifts

• Must be able to scrub and circulate

• Level 1 trauma experience required

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required

• Must have orthopedic scrub and total joint experience

• 50-mile radius travel restriction applies

• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have in hand Wednesday before start date)

• Epic charting experience required

• BSN preferred

• References required

• 40-hour orientation with non-billable modules up to 16 hours

• Float requirements within scope of practice within facility

• Required skills include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, general OR, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, and specimen handling

• Work with specialized equipment including Xi and SP robots, Mako for total knees, Mazor for spines, and various power equipment

• Provide care for all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics

• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

This major academic medical center operates as a Level 1 trauma facility with 34 operating rooms including specialized cores, hybrid ORs, and cardiac suites. The facility offers comprehensive surgical services including orthopedic/neuro/complex spine, ENT/plastics/ophthalmology, pediatric surgeries, robotics, general surgery/trauma/transplant services, and cardiovascular procedures. The medical center features state-of-the-art technology and equipment to support complex surgical procedures and maintains high standards for patient care across all specialties.
