Job Details:

• Work Monday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Thursday-Friday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

• 13-week assignment with 40 hours of orientation

• General call: 4-6 call shifts in a 6-week schedule including two 12-hour weekend call shifts

• Must be able to both scrub and circulate

• 2 years of experience required with Level 1 trauma experience required

• Must have orthopedic scrub and total joint experience

• Work with patients of all ages: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics

• Patient ratio of 1:1 for all shifts

• Required skills include general OR procedures, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, Whipple procedures, infection control, specimen handling, and universal protocol

• Epic charting system experience required

• BSN preferred

• Virginia nursing license required (can submit with pending license but must have in-hand by Wednesday before start date)

• 50-mile radius travel restriction applies

• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions

• Float within scope of practice as needed

• References required

• Nursys verification required for submission

This Level 1 Academic Trauma Center features 34 operating rooms including specialized cores, IMRIS rooms, hybrid ORs, and cardiac suites. The facility offers comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, general surgery, transplant services, cardiovascular, thoracic, and robotic procedures. Advanced equipment includes Xi and SP robots, Mako for total knees, Mazor for spines, and various specialized surgical instruments, providing a cutting-edge surgical environment.
