Position Summary
Hopkins | Lacy, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Division is searching for a diligent Service Manager to lead our HVAC division. The Service Manager will supervise staff who install, repair, and maintain heating and air‑conditioning systems in commercial buildings, schedule appointments, dispatch technicians, and work directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and drive new business.
Duties / Responsibilities- Manage HVAC Service Division activities to achieve planned and profitable growth.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and review performance of all HVAC service staff.
- Maintain a skilled team up to date on new technology, use tools and materials properly, and deliver quality workmanship to each customer.
- Provide customers with price estimates for parts and labor; estimate project hours for specific services.
- Develop and submit annual sales and profit plan including necessary budgets.
- Investigate market potential and opportunities to implement established services and recommend additional opportunities to the President.
- Mentor, train, and grow other employee‑owners.
- Assure evaluation and maintenance of employee technical competency is conducted.
- Implement employee training and development plan.
- Assist other divisions to maximize company opportunities.
- Conduct timely performance reviews.
- Maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels at all times.
- High school diploma and 5 years of Service Management experience.
- Successful sales history and sales management experience.
- Knowledge of managing and maintaining successful business units.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Good customer relation skills, to lead by example, help train technicians in ever changing HVAC world.
- Ability to audit equipment, design HVAC systems, develop pricing of systems, proposal generation service working of PMs, repairs and retrofit projects.
- Strong mechanical and installation understanding of the tools and equipment that technicians use.

TravelLimited to the Charlottesville area.
Supervisory ResponsibilityResponsible for 10 to 15 people, including technicians and service administration personnel.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull‑time, typically 50+ hours per week. Availability on‑call early/late hours to address delays, bad weather and emergencies at job sites.
