Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Primary responsibilities include maintaining the Softball and Track Facilities.
- Exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies.
- Performing repair and maintenance duties on grounds at various facilities used by the Athletics Department, student‑athletes, fans, and general public.
- Performing mechanical repairs.
- Assisting in the preparation, maintenance, and clean‑up of outdoor athletic facilities for games, special events, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Assisting with set‑up and teardown for sports‑related and other events.
- Assisting to ensure proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment, tools, and supplies; ensuring tasks are performed safely.
- Experience in general grounds keeping and landscaping preferred.
- Ability to be extremely flexible in terms of work schedule (evenings, weekends, and overtime) required.
- Knowledge of EPA guidelines for the application and storage of fertilizers and pest control chemicals preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to comply with EPA and University guidelines for application of fertilizers and pest control chemicals.
- Ability to assist in the care, usage, and maintenance of small & tractor engines, power equipment, and tools.
- Ability to assist daily in preparation, clean‑up, and on‑site needs associated with the use of athletic facilities.
- Ability to ensure the safe use of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Two years of experience. - Licensure:
Valid driver's license; driving forklift or other power industrial trucks requires CDL and may be required within 12 months of hire.
This is an overtime eligible, full‑time position with University benefits. The anticipated hiring range will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will pass a background check. This position will not sponsor applications for immigration now or in the future.
