Responsibilities- The Lab Tech Lead will serve as the primary technical point of contact in order to provide guidance and oversight on the most challenging analytic issues facing the Software Analysis Lab and the System Software Engineering/Analysts team members.
- This individual should assist in enabling other analysts by providing input to the most challenging analytic, research and production related issues and tasks.
- The Lab Tech Lead should be able to expertly work across all the efforts happening within their team, to allow for maximum collaboration.
- Triage new software sets to identify priority software for deeper analysis.
- Analyze software/firmware extracted from weapon systems for capability and performance characterization as well as vulnerability assessments. Extract software/firmware from multiple types of micro‑electronics on printed circuit boards.
- Utilize open source, commercially available, and government produced tools to support technical analysis of software systems. Perform digital forensics analysis of memory devices to recover valuable information related to system.
- Produce working virtual machines from software sets provided that may need specific support software or hardware drivers to be produced. As needed to support specific customer needs produce hardware emulators to support dynamic software analysis.
- Drive collection to provide the specific technical data required to assess software systems capabilities and vulnerabilities. Provide briefings to customers needing engineering and computer science analysis and discussion about their specific technical issues.
- Tasks will include specific focus on the following technologies commonly found in ground weapon systems:
- System characteristics and software algorithms related to radar systems
- Software algorithms related to cryptography and radio frequency hopping
- Software algorithms related to battlefield management and communication systems
- Software algorithms related to jammer systems
- Signals analyst to assess C4 signals and protocols
- System characteristics and software algorithms related to unmanned systems
- System characteristics and software algorithms related to vehicles systems
- Logic designs and implementation for FPGAs
- Penetration testing
- Specific operating systems such as Windows, Linux, QNX, or others
- Minimum 20 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
- Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Experience in the following labor categories will be relevant: computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineer, computer architect, programming engineer, and any daily work experience dealing with the interface of hardware and software in embedded special purpose systems.
- Experience in applying knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques in computer science and electrical engineering to produce targeted S&T&I products of weapon systems. Specifically includes ability to apply knowledge of multiple software programming languages (C++, python, and…
