Overview

Sentara Gastroenterology Specialists Martha Jefferson is hiring a Full‑time Medical Assistant in Charlottesville, VA. Qualified candidates may receive up to a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and a discretionary annual bonus if eligibility criteria are met.

• Perform patient care tasks and procedures as delegated by supervising provider.
• Provide administrative and clerical support, including documentation and scheduling.
• Maintain a safe environment by identifying and addressing safety concerns for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Utilize patient information systems and follow department policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with inter‑departmental teams and adhere to clinical practice guidelines.
• Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills in daily operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting preferred; phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certification within nine months of employment in one of the following: CCMA, CMA, RMA, or EMT.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and patient care skills.
