Overview
These roles focus on managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization and revenue cycle analysis. They also manage patient entry points into the healthcare system, including scheduling, registration, and verifying insurance. Patient access staff ensure that patients can efficiently navigate administrative processes while maintaining data accuracy and enhancing the patient experience.
Individuals in this role provide support within an organization, often in direct service, operational, technical, or administrative functions. They spend the majority of time delivering support services or activities, typically under supervision. Advancement outside this career stream is typically limited without additional education or significant training and experience.
Responsibilities- Support patient access processes including scheduling, registration, and insurance verification.
- Manage financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, and payment processing.
- Provide financial counseling and conduct utilization and revenue cycle analysis to optimize operations.
- Assist with ensuring data accuracy and a positive patient experience during administrative processes.
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Customer service experience preferred.
- Experience: Preferred but not required.
- Licensure: None required.
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and repetitive motion (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs.
The starting base rate for this role is $17.50/hr compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
