Job Title: Associate Director, Transplant Clinical Operations

Department: University Hospital | Transplant Center

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Director of Transplant Operations, this Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation of strategic plans and initiatives, process improvement, compliance, safety measures, value-based initiatives, and innovation for the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC). The role spans across ambulatory services, locations, and solid organ transplant programs. In addition to program oversight, the Associate Director supports the Director of Transplant Operations in directing, leading and overseeing clinical operations, education, and research of the department and clinical practice.

This position will assist with planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing programs and projects designed to evaluate and improve clinical quality, safety, resource utilization and operations in all outreach sites, outpatient ambulatory sites and designated inpatient hospital areas. The Associate Director will implement strategies to support efficiency, clinical effectiveness, clinical operations and quality improvement with interdisciplinary team members. Works directly with leadership and management of these areas to develop projects, programs and implement system changes that promote care coordination across the health care continuum.

Position

Summary

The Associate Director is responsible for clinical operations and compliance oversight for all areas of responsibility, developing opportunities for streamlining and creating efficiencies and supporting the development of long-term plans to accomplish the strategic initiatives of the organization; participates in strategic development and planning activities consistent with the vision, mission and strategic goals of OSUWMC. Provides oversight and direction to integrate services between all business units and service lines.

Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting bodies for inpatient services and outpatient ambulatory clinics. Responsible for formulating and administering related organizational policies and procedures; manages relationships with key vendors and partners; provides consultation and advice to internal business units, as well as to external stakeholders (employers and providers). Works with CTC leadership to coordinate and complete a variety of projects to ensure delivery of value-added products and services and collaborates with internal and external customers to establish superior business processes.

Partners with the Executive Director, Medical Director, and Director of Operations of the Comprehensive Transplant Center to support the overall mission for clinical, teaching and research.
