Patient Access Coordinator

The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all duties related to registration, patient access insurance, cash collections, quality compliance, customer satisfaction, and training support. The coordinator must demonstrate knowledge by using multiple systems, complex payor requirements, and area-specific knowledge, and communicate in a professional, goal‑directed manner with patients, internal customers, and payers. The role includes maintaining knowledge of policies and procedures, providing first‑line support for Patient Access Specialists, overseeing staffing patterns, supporting coverage planning with the supervisory team, auditing processes, using data and root‑cause analysis for recommendations, and modeling revenue cycle and patient access goals for all staff.

• Obtain and revise patient demographic, insurance, and account information to ensure accurate registration and payment.
• Train and coordinate the work of Patient Access Registration staff.
• Receive funds, issue receipts, balance cash journals, and make deposits.
• Provide services in a way that maximizes satisfaction and loyalty of those served by Patient Access while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintain current working knowledge of Access policies and procedures.
• Perform area‑specific support activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  1 year relevant Patient Access experience required; 3 years with Customer Service or Patient Access preferred.
• Licensure:
  None.

Job requires prolonged sitting; repetitive computer and mouse use. Requires proficient communication in spoken and written domains, adequate auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.

The starting base rate for this role is $13.38 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
