We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Charlotteville, VA office is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.
Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
- Provide support with scheduling and resource allocation for construction materials testing
- Provide training of entry-level technicians on testing of shallow and deep foundations, soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, sprayed-on fireproofing, etc.
- High School degree
- Valid Driver's License
- 4+ years of experience in construction materials testing. Technical post-high school education such as a degree in engineering or geology may be considered as a substitute for experience.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification or equivalent
- Possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills.
- Able to perform rudimentary mathematic computations
- Attentive to detail
- Interest in working outdoors on construction sites
- Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches per applicable OSHA standards, climb ladders to access elevated spaces and building rooftops, and work outside in potentially challenging weather conditions
- Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
