At Northrop Grumman, you'll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer based out of Charlottesville, VA. What You'll Get To Do:
The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will support manufacturing programs at the site.
* Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling for primarily wire harnesses, working closely with current ME team.

* Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of parts, tools, equipment and other functions affecting product performance.

* Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

* Investigate, evaluate, improve and harness build processes, to improve time and quality of finished product. Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, tools and final build to verify efficiency and accuracy. Must be able and willing to seek out shop floor feedback regularly to adjust processes accurately and efficiently.

* Develop manufacturing processes applying statistical process control. Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensure processes and procedures are compliant with regulations.

* Interface directly with and support assemblers, cell supervisors and others in Operations. Must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing manufacturing engineering processes and procedures.

* Drive affordability through monitoring of time/budget.

* Travel to suppliers as required, to achieve positive outcomes.

* Foster a collaborative culture, sustaining momentum around positive engagement, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

* Serve as a strong voice for Manufacturing Engineering and a role model for NG Values.

* This position is 100% onsite work for floor support; with an onsite start time corresponding to work cell assembler's start time. Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Engineer:
* Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering OR a Master's degree. Candidates with an Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering AND candidates with a high school diploma (or GED) and 6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production, electrical…
