Research Scientist in Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Scientist to develop machine learning methods for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This role focuses on developing novel algorithms for the reconstruction and post-processing of medical and biological images, and collaborating with clinical researchers on MRI projects.
Responsibilities- Develop novel theory, algorithms, and demonstrate its application to MR imaging.
- Publish results in high-impact journals.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- A Ph.D. or a Master’s degree with significant experience in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or applied math is required by the start date.
- Experience in signal processing, machine learning, and MRI is needed.
- The position will be funded by NIH awards on high-resolution brain relaxometry, free-breathing cardiac MRI, and MR spectroscopic imaging using machine learning; candidates with experience in these areas are encouraged to apply.
- PhD degree is preferred.
