Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern to join our team of professionals at Terra Form Power. Reporting to the Director, Land Origination, the GIS Intern will support the Greenfield Development Team with identifying and securing real estate opportunities for potential solar development projects across target markets. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growth-oriented organization, engage in key corporate initiatives, and gain experience and insight into the renewable energy industry.
ResponsibilitiesCorporate
- Provide support to related GIS and spatial data analysis through coordination with various stakeholders across the organization
- Support spatial data maintenance and update processes
- Conduct market research to support Greenfield Development decisions
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management
- Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to the Director, Land Origination based on sound analysis
- Gain experience using ArcGIS software to create mapping products for new leads and existing projects
- Scrub geospatial and tabular parcel data for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare external materials and site maps, with excellent attention to detail
- Assist with reviewing and analyzing geospatial datasets, editing data, digitizing, or creating features, as needed
- Assist with updating internal geospatial databases
- Maintain siting folders and project files to keep siting exercises organized and cataloged
- Assist with updating other geospatial datasets, as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Demonstrated experience in ArcGIS software is required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Well organized, self-motivated and eager to learn
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Enrolment in a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
