Overview
Graduate Student Assistants for the Student Disability Access Center (SDAC) will provide generalist support with a primary focus on administering accommodated academic exams for students with disabilities and assisting with accessible course materials. Responsibilities will also include supporting daily office operations, such as providing front‑line assistance for walk‑ins and scheduled appointments, coordinating scheduling, responding to emails, and maintaining confidential records. Graduate Student Assistants are supervised by the Associate Directors and work closely with the Accommodated Exam Coordinator and other SDAC staff members.
Responsibilities- Oversee exam administration processes, including greeting and checking in students, supporting exam integrity, monitoring time allotments and exam completion, monitoring exam cameras, and reporting irregularities as needed.
- Serve as the primary resource at the SDAC front desk, addressing higher‑level concerns related to test administration, especially for evening‑hour exams.
- Coordinate exam preparations, including confirming updated exam information with faculty and approving exam requests as needed.
- Create accessible course materials through document remediation and conversion, with particular attention to PDF accessibility and alternative text best practices.
- Maintain thorough and confidential records of student contacts and communications within the data management system.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate Student employees must adhere to the strict confidentiality requirements of their position.
- Candidates must be dependable, personable, and able to work effectively with a diverse student population.
- Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and under supervision.
- Candidates must possess great customer service skills.
- Candidates are required to complete training prior to beginning work at SDAC.
- Hiring for 15‑20 hours per week.
- Fall and Spring semester hours:
Monday – Thursday, 3 pm‑9 pm.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
