Position Overview
The Charlottesville Waldorf School is seeking a Spanish foreign language teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The Spanish teacher for Grades 1-8 is responsible for delivering a dynamic and engaging Spanish language program that adheres to Waldorf educational principles. The teacher will foster a love of the Spanish language and cultures among students, integrating language learning with artistic, musical, and cultural activities.
ResponsibilitiesThis role requires creativity, flexibility, and a passion for teaching, ensuring that students develop linguistic skills and cultural awareness in a supportive and stimulating environment.
QualificationsTeachers experienced in Waldorf pedagogy or interested in learning about Waldorf pedagogy are encouraged to apply. Experience in teaching Spanish to elementary and middle school levels is desired.
Hours and SchedulePart‑time: typically three days a week with each group of children having two Spanish classes per week. Applicants seeking full‑time work are also encouraged to inquire.
About Our SchoolLocated in the heart of Charlottesville, with the University of Virginia as a close neighbor, CWS draws in a vibrant community of people who care deeply about Waldorf education. The school celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022. We are a faculty and staff of 35, including Early Childhood, Grades 1-8, Specialty teachers, and an administrative staff.
