Overview

The University of Virginia's Department of Parking and Transportation is searching for reliable Parking Ambassadors. The Parking Ambassador performs a variety of tasks to assist the mission of Parking and Transportation in serving the University of Virginia Community. Duties include working in the field to serve as a customer service representative, help patrons pay for parking through the Park Mobile app, assist with special events as needed, direct traffic as part of strategic overflow control, and greet customers and assist with their needs.

Additional duties include serving as parking enforcement officers, customer service representatives, and service crew technicians. Parking Ambassadors are jack-of-all-trades for front-line customer service.

Parking and Transportation Parking Ambassadors are responsible for obtaining and maintaining a robust knowledge base, in order to address problems and provide information to customers appropriately and confidentially. Therefore, this position demands the ability to cross-train quickly, effectively, and efficiently.

Given the varied physical demands of this position, including a majority of time spent standing, climbing stairs/ramps, and walking through parking facilities, the position is considered "physically demanding".
