Overview
We are hiring for Camp Counselors for Summer 2026! We are looking for Head Counselors (21 yrs and older) for our Outdoor Youth Programs. Spend your Summer months in the beautiful outdoors teaching campers the basics of fishing. Our fishing camps have two age ranges: 6-8 yr olds, and 9-14 yr olds. We visit private and public waters to fish for bass, sunfish, catfish, crappie, and whatever is biting.
We have access to kayaks, canoes, and john boats that the campers utilize on the daily. Our main goal is to help campers build a positive relationship with the outdoors.
Applicants must work well in groups as well as be responsible, adaptive, and outgoing. The job duties include leading instructional activities, keeping campers safe in the outdoors, communicating with peers and camp parents, and helping to create a fun week.
Requirements and PreferencesPreferred work experience:
Experience that complements being a camp counselor such as:
Camp Counselor, School Teacher, Outdoor Educator, Bike Instructor, Raft Guide, etc.
Helpful experience, but not required:
Knowledge of fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, experience working or interacting with youth.
Skills:
- Patient and reliable
- Experience working with children
- Familiarity with various outdoor activities
- Energetic and positive personality
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (doing activities outside in the Summer)
- First aid and CPR-certified preferred for Head Counselors (if you don't have it, we will organize a CPR class)
