Seasonal tax preparer

Job Description:

CPA firm is looking for a seasonal tax return preparer. On the tax side, we would prefer someone that has worked through at least two tax seasons and can independently prepare 1040s. We use Ultratax, but can train as long as you have the necessary experience. Communication skills are a must as you would be required to work with other team members and request information from clients through email and phone calls.

• Prepare individual tax returns (1040) independently; experience of at least two tax seasons preferred.
• Work with Ultratax (training available if you have the necessary experience).
• Communicate with team members and request information from clients via email and phone.
• Possible on-call availability during busy periods after 4/15.

• At least two tax seasons of experience or equivalent; ability to independently prepare 1040s.
• Proficiency with Ultratax or willingness to learn/training provided.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to start 2/1 and commit 30-40 hours/week through 4/15; on-call options after 4/15; potential year-round role as tax person or tax/bookkeeper with benefits for full-time position.
