SummaryReceives, stores, and distributes inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of handtruck or dolly.
- Verifies accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
- Locates and selects merchandise and verifies against delivery sheet specifications.
- Delivers and stacks merchandise in stores.
- Reads shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fills requisitions or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to stores.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Participates in janitorial maintenance of warehouse facilities and office facility grounds.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English in a capacity sufficient to perform the tasks of the position.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
- Some knowledge of stock handling and inventory control methods and procedures.
