The primary function of this position is to refuel all tractors and trailers that are returned to the yard on a daily basis. Fueler must have strong organizational skills to track, monitor and measure the fuel being dispensed into each unit. Keeping accurate nightly records to insure all trucks are fueled on time is critical. Recording and monitoring tank levels to insure we have fuel in part of job responsibility.
Checking fluids, oil and routine maintenance checks on tractors and reefer units is part of daily responsibility.
- Refuel all tractors and trailers returned to the yard daily; maintain organized records of fuel dispensed into each unit; monitor tank levels to ensure fuel availability.
- Keep accurate nightly records to ensure all trucks are fueled on time; record and monitor fuel levels.
- Check fluids, oil and perform routine maintenance checks on tractors and reefer units as part of daily responsibilities.
- Education/Training:
High School Diploma/GED preferred; must be able to read, write and communicate in English related to the job and safety regulations; basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). - Licenses: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A with necessary endorsements and DOT qualification is preferred; able to meet DOT medical requirements is preferred.
- Related Experience/Requirements: 10-point fuel island safety inspection; fuels tractors and trailers; checks oil levels; maintains fuel records; may be required to do minor cleaning on fleet.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: learn/use equipment and tools; perform job functions safely; work scheduled times and overtime; learn MSDS information; back up trailers within 1 week; age 21 or older; work in all climates; adhere to safety practices and company policies.
Schedule typically Monday - Friday (some weekends may be required); subject to change based on business needs. Pay starting at $24.16/hr; benefits start day one: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan and ESPP, life insurance, paid parental leave.
CompensationCompensation depends on relevant experience/education, skills, location, and other factors. The expected base rate for this role is between $24.16 and $25.72 per hour. Overtime compensation applies where applicable. Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, disability coverage, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
