Duration: 9 months (high potential to extend or convert)
Role Level: Senior / Lead Engineer (10+ years experience)
About the Role

We are building a new Agentic AI platform for Commercial Banking that automates end-to-end servicing workflows starting from inbound email. This system will use autonomous and assisted AI agents to interpret requests, orchestrate services, and execute tasks with minimal human involvement.

You will be a foundational engineering leader responsible for designing the architecture, validating technical decisions, and driving early-stage development in a fast-moving, startup-style environment. This role requires deep AI systems experience-specifically with agentic workflows, Lang Chain/Lang Graph, and Python.
What You Will Build

You will help architect and deliver an AI-driven workflow platform that can:

• Ingest and classify incoming emails
• Identify intent across single and multi-request messages
• Break down and route tasks through an orchestration engine
• Use autonomous and human-assisted agents to execute work
• Escalate to humans only when needed
• Integrate with a front-end chat-style interface for user interaction

This platform is being built from scratch and will serve as a core capability powering operational workflows across Commercial Banking.
Current Phase of the Project

This is greenfield, high-ownership work.

In the next 3-4 weeks, the team is focused on:

• Defining system architecture and design patterns
• Standing up development and production environments
• Establishing foundational infrastructure
• Implementing email ingestion and classification
• Designing agent orchestration frameworks
• Building early POCs to validate technical decisions
• Setting up Mongo
  
  DB, drafting APIs, and standing up the MCP server

Business and technical teams are mapping workflows to determine which agents to build, how they interact, and what will be automated in Phase 1 vs. Phase 2.
Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of the Agentic AI platform
• Develop scalable services, APIs (async), and workflow components
• Build and validate agent orchestration, task pipelines, and system integrations
• Drive technical decision-making and influence platform direction
• Review designs, code, and patterns to ensure engineering quality
• Guide POCs, experimentation, and architectural tradeoff evaluations
• Partner closely with product, operations, and enterprise architecture teams
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership as the team grows

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years building AI systems in production
• Hands-on experience delivering at least one production agentic AI solution
• Deep expertise in:
  • Python
  • Lang Chain / Lang Graph
  • AI system architecture + agentic patterns
• Strong experience with:
  • Mongo
    
    DB or other No
    
    SQL databases
  • Asynchronous API design
  • Distributed system design
  • ICP/queueing systems (e.g., Kafka)
  • Workflow engines or BPM-style systems
  • Cloud-native environments (CI/CD, containers, observability)
• Experience designing microservices architectures
• Understanding of enterprise-grade security, compliance, and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google ADK (Agent Developer Kit)
• Background in banking or financial services (KYC, onboarding, servicing)
• Broader experience across LLM orchestration, workflow automation, and multi-agent architectures

• Candidates with only demo/POC LLM experience and no production delivery
