We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join our team with a primary focus on AI-driven automation across a program area. This role is a senior individual contributor position with team-level technical leadership: you will own delivery and architecture for AI automation features within one or more epics, mentor peers, coordinate with adjacent teams, and ensure responsible, production-grade deployment of AI tooling (including guardrails, traceability, and operational readiness).

The role spans multiple features and may touch multiple products, services, or platforms within the program area.

Team-level leadership & delivery

• Tech lead a team or feature squad: set technical priorities, support sprint outcomes, remove blockers, and enable team delivery.
• Own delivery for one or more epics: plan, design, implement, test, deploy, and operate features.
• Mentor peers through pairing, design reviews and knowledge sharing; provide cross-team enablement as needed.
• Coordinate dependencies and alignment with Product, UX, QA, Security, and Cloud Ops.

Technical Implementation & Development

• Lead implementation of AI-enabled automation workflows for parts of the software development lifecycle within the program area.
• Design and implement auto-generation workflows for Jira stories, system requirements, and technical documentation with defined quality gates and traceability.
• Implement AI-assisted code scaffolding and integrate validation, guardrails and automated checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and operate Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) components, lightweight intelligent agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent integrations to support engineering workflows.
• Ensure human-in-the-loop checkpoints, prompt and policy guardrails, access controls, provenance and traceability for AI outputs.
• Implement feature flags, staged rollouts and safe rollback conditions for AI features; monitor and optimize reliability, latency, correctness and cost.
• Prepare runbooks, dashboards and alerts; participate in incident response and post-incident reviews to improve system resiliency.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies to improve developer productivity, quality and efficiency.

Education:

• BS or MS in computer science or a related engineering discipline.

Years and type of experience

• 5+ years as a Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer or comparable role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade systems and automation that improve developer workflows.
