Data Engineer; Python​/Scala

A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high‑impact technology team working across advanced data, cloud, and analytics platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background who thrives in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments—particularly within financial crime, fraud, or AML domains.

• Develop and support applications within a Scala / Python framework
• Build, deploy, and maintain applications in an Azure cloud environment using interconnected services
• Work with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure Databricks, and related cloud technologies
• Implement and optimize Elasticsearch search capabilities
• Write advanced SQL and work with relational databases—preferably MS SQL Server and Azure-based databases
• Participate in the Dev Ops lifecycle using Git, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, etc.
• Collaborate using Jira and Confluence within an Agile environment
• Design and maintain REST APIs and microservice architectures
• Ensure excellent customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality, timely solutions aligned with SLAs
• Communicate proactively with business users, vendors, and internal teams
• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues using strong analytical skills and quick turnaround times

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering and systems implementation
• Background in AML, Fraud, or Financial Crime technology strongly preferred
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
  , Information Systems
  , or a related field
• Strong experience in Scala (preferred), Python, Java, R, or similar object‑oriented languages
• Proven expertise with Azure cloud services
• Strong understanding of Agile development practices
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
