Technical Lead – Platform & Application Integrations | Hybrid (3-Days) | W-2 Contract

Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is looking for a Software Engineer IV to join their team as a Technical Lead for Platform & Application Integrations.

We are seeking a Technical Lead to provide technical direction and architectural leadership for backend platform services, application integrations, and data-driven systems. This role ensures solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned to long-term platform strategy. The Technical Lead will work closely with Senior Back End Software Engineers, data engineers, product managers, and platform teams to guide the design of shared backend services, integration layers, and data pipelines.

This is a hands‑on role where the Technical Lead will contribute production‑quality code using Python, FastAPI, and AWS services, while also mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.

• 8+ years of experience in backend, platform, or distributed systems engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and cloud‑native backend development.
• Deep experience with AWS services and distributed architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting production systems with on‑call responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of streaming and batch integration patterns.

• Provide technical leadership and own the architecture for platform services, application integrations, and data pipelines.
• Define reference architectures, integration patterns, and platform standards.
• Contribute production‑quality code and guide decisions around AWS services like Lambda, ECS Fargate, Kafka, and AWS Glue.
• Mentor engineers through design guidance, code reviews, and technical coaching.
• Drive improvements in system resiliency, monitoring, alerting, and automation.
• Establish best practices for API design, event‑driven architectures, data contracts, and schema evolution.
• Ensure infrastructure and delivery pipelines support safe, repeatable, low‑risk releases.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews.
