Overview
MES Software Developer (.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
Location- Remote, but candidates must reside within 1–2 hours commuting distance of one of the following office locations:
- Corning, NY
- Charlotte, NC
- Vineland, NJ
- Phoenix, AZ
- Hemlock, MI
- Hickory, NC
- Blacksburg, VA
- Keller, TX
- Boston, MA (Tewksbury, MA & Bedford, MA)
- Required onsite for equipment pickup on first day of assignment.
- May be expected onsite within first two weeks for training meetings.
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no overtime anticipated).
- Supplier pre-screenings must be video recorded (not submitted, for verification only).
- Video interviews with team will be recorded.
Up to 10% travel possible, based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain MES applications using .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs.
- Integrate MES solutions (specifically Siemens Opcenter Execution) with existing manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with manufacturing customers to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement and manage messaging technologies (MSMQ, Active
MQ, Rabbit
MQ) for reliable shop floor communication. - Manage system integration and ensure data consistency across systems.
- Test applications and analyze results to ensure functionality and performance.
- Contribute to project plans and timelines; ensure timely delivery of assigned work.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize MES applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Document solutions and provide end-user training/support.
- Participate in on-call rotation for support once fully trained.
BS in Computer Science, Systems Management, or IT-related field (minimum required).
Required Skills- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in application development and SDLC.
- 5–7+ years of developer experience using .NET, C#, ASP.NET.
- Hands-on experience with messaging technologies (MSMQ, Active
MQ, Rabbit
MQ). - Experience supporting IT systems in 24/7 manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Knowledge of source code management systems (Git, TFS).
- Strong understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with RESTful services and APIs.
- Ability to discuss production support, integrations, and go-live experiences.
- Hands-on experience developing in Siemens Opcenter Execution (Designer and Portal, formerly Camstar).
- Understanding of Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
- Experience with CI/CD automation tools (Git Lab, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins).
- Experience working in Scrum/Agile teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of implementing IT solutions that meet business demands.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
- Quick learner with adaptability in fast-paced environments.
