DescriptionThis role is a potential contract to hire and requires resources who do not require sponsorship now or in the future. As an ETL developer, you will support production and project work in the GTS Data space, understand requirements, design, and the functionality of jobs, and propose strategic solutions as well as innovative tactical work‑arounds as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead projects and guide others, working flexible hours when needed, including approximately one weekend per month and possible comp‑off time.
- Provide Level‑3 production support (~25% time): analyze issues, determine root causes, propose solutions, and communicate findings to front‑line support and other technology teams.
- Lead development (~75% time): perform requirements analysis, design and implement solutions using Informatica, Hadoop, PL/SQL, Linux scripting, and other ETL tools.
- Identify gaps and propose process and tool improvements.
- Collaborate with information architecture teams, participate in project meetings, and coordinate with nearshore/offshore teammates and other support teams (L2, development, testing, upstream and downstream partners).
- Propose high‑level and detailed design solutions, and out‑of‑the‑box technical solutions to resolve business and technical problems that arise during real‑time production.
- 10+ years of ETL and data warehousing development experience.
- Solid experience with Big Data technologies (HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive, etc.) and/or Informatica Power Center.
- Oracle database experience with the ability to write and understand SQL.
- Working knowledge of Linux basics and ability to write and understand basic shell scripts.
- Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills, with a drive to determine root causes of issues.
- Experience with data movement and transformation technologies.
- Experience with Python, shell scripting, or other programming language development.
- Auto Sys job scheduling experience.
