Base pay range

$/yr - $/yr

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Spring Boot, Mongo

DB, Kafka, and Microservices architecture. Additionally, experience or familiarity with Payment’s systems will be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Work with No

    SQL databases, primarily Mongo

    DB, to manage data storage solutions.
  • Implement messaging solutions using Kafka for event‑driven architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and refine system requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
  • Ensure robust security, scalability, and reliability of applications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of proven experience in Java development.
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Hands‑on experience with Mongo

    DB or other No

    SQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of Kafka or other messaging systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing Microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience working in Payments or Financial Services domain.
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance in payments systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.
  • Exposure to other middleware, message queues, or data pipelines.
