Maintenance Mechanic

Pay: $28.20 per hour

Schedule:

6:00am - 2:30pm, typically Monday-Friday and Sunday

Overtime:
Potential for overtime during the week

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining plant equipment to required standards, responding to line calls, and supporting both preventative and breakdown maintenance. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain equipment to required operational standards

Respond promptly to line calls and production issues

Perform preventative and failure-based maintenance

Install and maintain machinery using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools

Troubleshoot mechanical failures

Repair and rebuild pumps

Maintain conveyors, auger systems, cables, and packaging equipment

Work within established safety standards and practices

Read and interpret equipment drawings and documentation

Document completed work and equipment modifications

Recommend equipment changes or upgrades to improve reliability and performance

Work effectively as part of a team while also operating independently with minimal supervision

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational, technical, or millwright training preferred

Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable safety standards

Experience with industrial maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures

Hands-on experience with pumps and pump alignment, conveyors, hydraulics, safe rigging, cutting, grinding, and welding

Strong communication skills and ability to work under time constraints

Reliable attendance and punctuality required

Physical Requirements

Ability to climb stairs and ladders

Ability to lift, sit, and stand for extended periods

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights

Ability to bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks

Ability to work in all weather conditions
