$32 to $34 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities- Must have dependable transportation and a clean driving record to qualify for a company truck.
- Provide direction to the crew on responsibilities and expectations.
- Lead and demonstrate safe work conditions and practices.
- Conduct safety meetings and complete daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Build, erect, and align forms for various concrete structures and foundations.
- Estimate concrete quantities and appropriate mixes of sand and cement for hand-mixed concrete.
- Build forms (carpenter work), including stick build, Symons, and modular panel systems.
- Cut and place reinforcing wire mesh, tie rebar, prepare sand and cement mixtures, and place, pour, and rough level concrete.
- Fine finish concrete by floating, toweling, edging, and brushing according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and read survey stakes to establish correct grades.
- Utilize hand tools and non-complex small power tools, performing minor maintenance as required.
- Operate equipment such as bobcats and excavators.
- Maintain administrative reports (e.g., safety, timesheets).
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Considerable knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete construction and general contracting.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
- Ability to give and execute oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and make simple calculations to read survey stakes and calculate areas and volumes.
- Ability to instruct and direct the work of unskilled and semi-skilled assistants.
- Ability to maintain simple, accurate records.
- Skill in the use and care of hand and small power tools associated with the work.
- Willingness to travel as needed (typically less than 40%).
- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet for 10-12 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs as needed.
- Must be able to go up and down ladders, steps, or other lifts as needed.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for 10-12 hours per day.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or general contracting concrete work.
- 2+ years of experience as a crew leader or foreman.
