As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road. You will learn from experienced supervisors and master technicians, receive industry certified training, and work in a clean, well-equipped facility.

Responsibilities- Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs (e.g., replacing or rotating tires) and complete vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

- Strong, well-rounded training on a variety of OEM equipment (Penske’s Technician Certification Program is certified as a Continuing Automotive Service Education provider)

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and outside
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand and comply with Penske instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations
- Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including tool selection, PPE, machine guarding, and safety practices
- Regular, predictable, full attendance
- Willingness to meet driving-related requirements (DOT regulations, background checks, drug screens, and training) and potential travel for training
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Associates must have the ability to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
Physical Requirements- Move frequently; stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate required tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work in all weather conditions
- See and hear to navigate a busy work environment
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push/pull tires over 100 lbs
