Sumter Utilities, Inc. (a Quanta Services company) seeks a commercial vehicle technician for work in the Charlotte, NC - Upper SC region. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in mechanical support of a Commercial or Military Fleet, with a preference for experience maintaining & repairing construction-type vehicles/equipment.

Basic requirements include:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Diesel/Auto Certification from a Technical/Vocational/Military program or equivalent education & experience
- Willingness to travel on short notice for field operations
Prior ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification (Tests T1-T8) is preferred but not required. Active employees may be offered opportunities to obtain ASE Certification and must maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Forklift Operation.
The Field/Shop Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel engines and related systems to ensure safety and efficiency. This includes diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing repairs.

Key duties include:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related components
- Performing routine maintenance like oil changes and filter replacements
- Repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts
- Troubleshooting mechanical problems
- Conducting preventative maintenance and documenting all work
- Managing parts inventory and ensuring quality replacements
- Communicating with internal teams and customers about repairs
- Following safety guidelines and regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of services performed

Qualifications include:
