Overview
Environmental contracting company specializing in dredging, sewer rehabilitation, and industrial cleaning seeks an experienced CIPP Operator for our Charlotte, NC location. This position operates within a multi-person crew installing cured-in-place pipe systems for municipal and industrial sewer rehabilitation projects. The CIPP Operator will work extensively with CCTV trucks, jet-vacuum equipment, and boiler trucks to deliver trenchless pipeline restoration solutions.

- Install and operate cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) systems for sewer and stormwater rehabilitation projects
- Operate CCTV inspection trucks, jet-vacuum trucks, and boiler trucks for pipeline cleaning and preparation
- Assemble and install bypass pumping systems to maintain flow during rehabilitation work
- Prepare equipment for CIPP installation including tube preparation, resin mixing, and inversion setup
- Conduct pre-installation pipeline cleaning using high-pressure jetting equipment up to 4000 PSI
- Monitor curing process for CIPP liners using steam or UV light curing systems
- Perform quality control inspections of completed installations using CCTV equipment
- Maintain all equipment in good working condition through daily inspections and minor repairs
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and company safety policies during operations
- Document installation progress and maintain accurate project records
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy construction or underground utility work
- Previous hands-on experience with Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) installation required
- CDL Class B license strongly preferred; must be willing to obtain within 6 months if not currently held
- Demonstrated ability to operate specialized equipment including jet-vacuum trucks and CCTV systems
- Willingness to travel out of town 80-90% of the time, including weekends
- Ability to pass drug screening and fitness-for-duty physical examination
- Must pass safety training exams and follow detailed work instructions
- Strong understanding of bypass pumping systems and temporary flow management
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-person crew
- NASSCO PACP (Pipeline Assessment Certification Program) certification
- NASSCO ITCP-CIPP (Inspector Training Certification Program) for cured-in-place pipe
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety certification
- Experience with both steam-cured and UV-cured CIPP installation methods
- Confined space entry certification
- Knowledge of municipal sewer systems and storm drain infrastructure
- Experience with trenchless rehabilitation technologies beyond CIPP (pipe bursting, slip lining)
- Familiarity with Perma-Liner, Maxliner, or similar CIPP product systems
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
- Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods during 10-12 hour shifts
- Work in confined spaces including manholes and underground structures
- Tolerate outdoor work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
- Climb ladders and work at various heights as needed for equipment operation
- Extended travel away from home 80-90% of the time, including overnight stays and weekends
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, safety harnesses, and protective clothing
- Work around chemicals, resins, and styrene-based materials with proper safety precautions
- On-site work environment; no remote work available
