Fire Alarm & Low-Voltage Field Supervisor
Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000 (DOE)
A well-established Fire Protection and Life Safety Contractor serving the Charlotte metro area is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Low-Voltage Field Supervisor to oversee fire alarm, access control, and CCTV field operations. This role is responsible for leading technicians, ensuring code compliance, productivity, safety, and high-quality installations across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support fire alarm, access control, and CCTV technicians across multiple active job sites.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly field activities to meet project schedules and service commitments.
- Ensure fire alarm installations, testing, and service comply with NFPA 72, local AHJ requirements, and company standards.
- Oversee installation and service of access control systems (readers, controllers, door hardware, power supplies).
- Oversee installation and service of CCTV / video surveillance systems, including cameras, cabling, and network connectivity.
- Perform jobsite visits to inspect workmanship, verify progress, and resolve technical or installation issues.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex system troubleshooting and integration issues.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, IT teams, and other trades.
- Support inspections, acceptance testing, and resolution of deficiencies for fire alarm systems.
- Track labor hours, productivity, material usage, and field performance.
- Enforce safety policies, conduct jobsite safety meetings, and promote best practices.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians across fire alarm and low-voltage disciplines.
- Assist with documentation, as-builts, testing reports, and project closeout.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with fire alarm systems.
- 3+ years of experience with access control and/or CCTV systems.
- Prior lead technician or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire alarm system installation standards.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage security systems and basic networking concepts.
- Experience in commercial, healthcare, education, hospitality, industrial, or multi-family environments.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- NICET Level II or III in Fire Alarm Systems strongly preferred.
- North Carolina low-voltage or fire alarm license a plus (or ability to obtain).
