Main Responsibilities- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
- Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

- Advanced vehicle maintenance technology.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Team player and self‑starter.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to understand and comply with Penske’s policies, DOT, OSHA, and safety regulations.
- Full attendance required.
- Driver qualification file maintained per DOT regulations; CDL holders subject to FMCSA review.
- Willingness to work the required schedule, location, and background screening, and to travel for training as needed.
The duties of this job require the associate to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods. The associate will use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls on a routine basis. The associate must work safely at heights using ladders and platforms, in all weather conditions, and be able to navigate the workplace safely.
The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
