The Field HVAC Superintendent oversees the daily operations of HVAC field projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role supervises field crews, coordinates with project managers, and maintains high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate HVAC field installation crews across multiple job sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
- Review project plans and specifications to determine work schedules, staffing needs, and material requirements.
- Monitor progress and provide daily updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and resolve any issues that arise.
- Train and mentor field technicians and foremen.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including time sheets, change orders, and field reports.
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC field operations experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, and building codes.
- Experience on retrofit projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in HVAC preferred.
- 5+ years of HVAC field experience, 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience managing commercial or industrial HVAC projects highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation practices, and mechanical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with project management tools and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling software).
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to lead and manage field crews.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to resolve conflicts, make decisions under pressure, and maintain productivity.

Physical DemandsMust be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work, and tolerate confined spaces. Work involves heights and seasonal temperature extremes. Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.
