As a Security Officer - Warehouse Entry Screener in Charlotte, NC
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, screen people and property entering the site, verify credentials, and document activity using site systems. You will support routine patrols and monitor access points and alarm activity, helping to deter security-related incidents while delivering strong customer service.

What You ll Do
  • Provide customer service to site employees, visitors, drivers, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen individuals entering designated areas using approved screening methods such as walkthrough magnetometer, handheld metal detection, and/or visual inspection in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct bag, package, and/or parcel inspections as permitted by site policy, maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
  • Verify identification, access credentials, and/or visitor authorization; issue temporary badges as required and maintain accurate access logs.
  • Support gatehouse and dock operations by checking in drivers, verifying shipping and receiving documentation as directed, and coordinating with site contacts for access approval.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other access control systems; report irregular activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following escalation protocols and documenting actions taken.
  • Perform routine tours and random patrols of interior and exterior areas including entrances, staging areas, and perimeter points as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Complete detailed written reports of screening results, incidents, and/or policy violations, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
  • Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow near entry points and screening areas to help support orderly operations and reduce congestion.
Minimum Requirements
  • A guard card and/or applicable license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
