To advance our firm’s growth strategy, Nuveen Retirement Investing (NRI) is seeking highly self-motivated, resilient & goal oriented NRI Internal Sales Associates to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the NRI Internal Sales Associate is to partner with the NRI external sales team to identify, prospect, nurture, grow and close opportunities to sell Nuveen retirement products to retirement plan advisors and intermediaries, including financial advisors, retirement consultants, and 401k recordkeeping wholesalers. This is a high impact role – ideal candidates are ambitious, self-starting, analytical, and career driven professionals who want a longer-term path to external sales, strategic client relationship management, or opportunities spanning Nuveen’s global public-to-private investment teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the NRI external sales team to drive NRI asset growth within a defined sales territory
- Proactively engage with retirement plan advisors, consultants, and 401k recordkeeping wholesalers to best serve their clients’ goals – identifying, prospecting, nurturing and growing opportunities to position and sell Nuveen retirement products
- Apply discipline to gather and maintain high quality, accurate CRM (Salesforce) prospect/client pipeline data
- Coordinate with the NRI external sales team to prepare for client meetings and promptly follow through on post-meeting activities, including but not limited to: managing calendars and meeting invites, coordinating meeting materials, preparing RFI/RFPs, supporting due diligence activities
- Support NRI external sales team to develop, refine, and execute sales territory plans
- Stay sharp on industry trends, competitor positioning, market flows and relevant developments to identify new opportunities and adapt territory sales execution accordingly
- Consistently deploy sales toolkits, advisor reports & analytics, and value-add programs to maximize value to prospects and clients
- Collaborate with NRI Internal Sales Associates, Internal Sales Desk Manager, and broader NRI team to share best practices, coach and enable continuous high performance across all NRI sales territories
- Educational Requirements:
University Degree Preferred - FINRA Registrations:
Series 7;
Series 63 - Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work
- 2+ years required; 3+ years preferred
- 2+ years of experience in internal sales or supporting external wholesalers or related domains related to target date funds and DC retirement investment products
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63
- State & non-resident Life & Health insurance license (preferred)
- Strong understanding and ability to confidently discuss markets, products & performance, and portfolio construction
- Strong presentation skills – excellent verbal and written communication
- Accountable, resilient, goal oriented with a track record to independently execute, balanced with a team-first mindset
- Potential for occasional travel
Anticipated Posting End Date:
Base Pay Range: $60,000/yr - $90,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in incentive programs based on performance.
